The Rock Cycle Overview

The purpose of this site is to help other people understand the cycle or fock materials being transformed over and over throughout time.

Did you know that all of the rock material that exists today has always existed since Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago? Almost all of the rocks and rock formations today are likely only 200  million years old; which is very young in geologic time! According to National Geographic, the oldest rocks that have been found are 3.8 billion years old.

On this website you can explore all of the different rock materials and the processes they go through to change over their lifetime. There are 3 main sections:

1. The Rock Materials

2. The Transformation Processes

3. The Energy Sources

I hope you enjoy!
